Powerwatch's mission is to help secure for the general public as safe an electromagnetic environment as possible, whilst enjoying the benefits of an appropriate technological lifestyle.
We work with senior people in government, parliament, business, universities and campaigning groups to identify and inform about the biological effects of electromagnetic field exposure, and to encourage precautionary steps to be taken.
We are the primary national organisation opposing the insensitive siting of mobile phone and Tetra masts in the UK.
Wired Child is a charity run by a group of concerned parents, raising awareness of the potential risks to children of exposure to radiation from mobile phones and other wireless technology.
The Human Radiation Effects Group
We are interested in the environmental factors linked to the incidence of childhood leukaemia. One particular focus is the role played by electric and magnetic fields associated with the electricity supply. Two aspects are being investigated. The first concerns the role of corona ion emission from high voltage powerlines and how this may explain the observation of increased incidence of childhood leukaemia up to 600 metres from high voltage powerlines in England and Wales. The second concerns the mechanisms by which magnetic fields appear to increase the risk of childhood leukaemia as well as certain other diseases.
The Group is supported by CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA. Britain's leading charity dedicated to the conquest of Childhood leukaemia.
For more than 25 years, Microwave News has been reporting on the potential health and environmental impacts of electromagnetic fields and radiation. Microwave News is widely recognized as a fair and objective source of information on this controversial subject.
